- fat Loss and weight loss are not the same thing
- you can lose weight on a diet, but not fat
- there is just one way to lose fat from your body and that is by exercise
So you have no choice but to include a fat burning exercise routine in your life, if you want to achieve fat loss.
Is There An Optimal Fat Burning Exercise Regimen?
There is no such thing as a best exercise routine for fat loss. However, there is an exercise routine that would suit you best, given your likes and dislikes and your life circumstances.
Exercise falls into two general classifications. They are aerobic exercise and anaerobic exercise.
Examples of aerobic fat burning exercise are bicycle riding, brisk walking, swimming and jogging. An example of anaerobic exercise is strength or resistance training. There are other examples of anaerobic exercise, but to discuss them in this article would cause me to deviate from the main message of this article.
A good strength training regimen is most effective in achieving fat loss. However strength training does not appeal to everybody. You dont have to do strength training to rid your body of the unwanted fat. You can lose the fat by doing aerobic
exercise that burns fat.
How Do You Know If You Are Burning Fat When You Are Doing Your Aerobic Exercise?
Fat burning does not occur at the beginning of an exercise session. Your body goes through some stages before it begins to burn fat. At the beginning, your body uses carbohydrates for energy. This lasts for approximately 10 minutes. Then you begin to burn fat for energy.
When you are at the right level of exertion for you, you will burn fat. The right level for you has you exercising hard enough for your body to want more oxygen. How can you tell if it is the right level for you?
- your rate of breathing is faster than normal, but you are not breathless
- there should be some perspiration on your neck and back
- If you are unable to hold a conversation while exercising and you are breathless, you are exerting yourself beyond your current level of fitness
If you experience dizziness or lightheadedness, it is not a good sign. It means that you are overexerting yourself and you should stop.
Your body will not begin to burn fat for energy, if you do not exert yourself sufficiently. Carbohydrates will remain the energy source for your body. If this is what happens, you will lose mostly water weight, which leads to a decrease in your metabolism. This is the opposite of what you want, because the higher your metabolism the more fat you will burn.
Also please understand that just because you reached the fat burning stage, does not mean you will stay there. Fat burning will continue for as long as you keep up the pace that is right for you.

You need to carefully research all your options, before choosing the best exercise regimen for you. If you get this wrong, you will become frustrated and upset. It could even lead you to abandoning your weight loss efforts.
